Oh Europe!
You were good times, and i will visit you again soon, but i am glad to be home, where some new adventures will take place
Yay I made it safely back to dunners.
What a mission though!!
The night before leaving Utrecht I only slept a couple of hours, just couldn't sleep… was very tired trying to get out of bed really early in the morning.
And then I couldn't really sleep on the plane only another couple of disjointed hours. It was sunny when I left Holland but not too warm. I get to Singapore at six in the morning after already been traveling almost 16 hours on only a few hours sleep. And its flipping 30 degrees. So I strip down to my little skirt and tee shirt, muck around the airport until a decent hour of the morning before ringing some of my friends.
Unfortunately i couldnt meet up with Ian and Geri, which was a bit gutting, but thats life. But i meet Oceania for lunch at about one. In the mean time I went into the city, was walking around dead on my feet. Tried to find a park to sleep in or a park bench. Singapore has no parks!!!! I slept a little in an underground station while waiting for my friend who bought me lunch. And then we went to the Gallery Hotel early to meet Johnny who gave me a key to one of the rooms so I could have a wee nap. Slept a couple of hours almost but wokeup feeling more awful than before. Jumped in the shower which was perhaps a little naughty of me, but it was great. Was more awake after that.
I dont know whats wrong with me, normally i can sleep really well when travelling but it just wasnt happening on the next plane either, had to make myself sleep after watching some movies. And there was hardly anyone on the plane so I got a whole row to myself to lie down!!
Made it to chch, was so great to be back on home soil. except New Zealand has the most anal customs checks!! little snifter dog can be quite frightning.
Was cool i got to hang out with Paula and Heyley in Chch for the arvo before flying to dunners finally!!!
My luggage was a mission all in itself. All up I think I had nearly 50kgs! My suitcase was 25kg, Had some trouble getting my luggage on the domestic flight... the guy made me take a couple out but it was ok on the international. Then he made me weigh my carry on. It was15kg!!! I told him I would give some stuff to my friends to take down. I gave them a couple of things. But I managed to carry most of it. I also had my laptop case stuffed full of stuff, at least 5kg, and my shoulder bag, with camera etc in it.
All up I was traveling and in transit for 50 hours. And only slept about 8 to 10 hours. I arrived in dunners where it was 2degrees and it had just snowed so the airport had a white covering. So it was a bit of a shock coming from 30degree Singapore.
I collapsed into my bed. Woke up at five in the morning and thought to myself this is a little early to get up. Then woke up again at 4.30pm!! couldn't believe it. I thought my watch had died or gone funny. So I slept like 17hours that night. Was so mad that noone woke me up, cos I had a lot of stuff I needed to get done that day, and people I was gonna catch up with. And it also meant that I wouldn't get to sleep very easily the next night. and only got 3hours... surprise, surprise
The worst thing is it was apparently a really nice sunny day, but I completely slept through it and the sun was setting when I got up at 4.30 and it was dark when I got out of the shower… it made me feel very disorientated, my body clocked is screwed
So now I am writing this at five in the morning wide awake!! Unbelieveable. (shakes head)
I think I will get up soon and sort my life out, gotta get all my stuff out of storage. And do a whole lot of stuff in town.
So yeah that's the story of my life in the last four days, didn't achieve much except getting across from the other side of the world.
well thats the end of my adventures for a while, have to come back down to reality where there will be adventures of a different kind. my blog www.rosyponders.blogspot.com will contunue to be updated as i progress on my graduation sculpture.
over and out
